I love a Bacon Sandwich and a Cup of tea

Image
I don't have a bacon sandwich all the time, but now and then with a cup of tea. It is good to have the things you enjoy to feel excited. I love my food now, being super fuzzy as a child and when I have a Bacon Sandwich it reminds me of my dad as every weekend he'd make me a Bacon or Sausage sandwich but found it super filling and wouldn't eat all of it, which my dad would get annoyed with and didn't like how soggy the bread would get. Now it is part of it, but a Bacon roll is a delicious too and nice to have this to warm up the body and feel satisfied and it actually helps with my appetite by being full and not snacking so much. The tea I normally have is, Tetley's or Yorkshire Tea. I do occasionally have herbal and like a bit of lemon and honey in the winter, in my tea. I like my afternoon cup and like to have a cuppa in the evening when reading my book before bedtime.  The book I am reading at the moment is The Street by Anthony Quinn. I bought it from a Charity s...

A Cup of Tea and Toast

Image
Hello and welcome to my site and for checking out this blog site. I am writing this as I have my second cup of tea for the day with, two slices of toast with Jam. This is the life.  Nothing better my book and a cup of tea which I do each morning and evening I love nothing better and make sure I have something to eat in the morning. I can't function on an empty stomach and it can be a bowl of cereal some days, we had waffles this week too, with Chocolate Spread and Maple Syrup and often my son loves Scrambled egg on toast.  There was a time I'd skip breakfast and not eat until midday. Mainly when I was working at a holiday camp because I wouldn't eat until the first shift of the day was be over and couldn't stomach food and  I did lose a lot of weight for while as I was moving more than what I was eating and drinking alcohol, a lot of the time and binge drinking is not a good idea. So now I will fuel myself when I get up in the morning to kick start my day and it has mad...

Why I Love a Morning Coffee

Image
I am sitting at my dining table which is in the Living room, creating my monthly Newsletter check out Everyone can build a castle , with my coffee. It inspired me because I know people say too much coffee is bad, which in my case is true but I still love to have a morning coffee.  Picture I took of a Cappuccino  Frappes are off the cards as they give me a bad stomach but normal iced or hot Lattes I am fine with as long as I limit it to two to three days a week, as I do love going for a coffee in a coffee shop once or twice in the week and during the weekend.  I currently have a cafetiere and it is nice but a bit weak, but I like making my own coffee some days rather buying. It can be expensive buying coffees in a shop and why I don't do it everyday.  My mum and Stepdad have a coffee machine which I use it now and again as I have a jar of instant coffee, but would like to invest in a Throffer and be able to have a latte at home. I have tried sachets, but I would ...

I love a pair of pyjamas

Image
I am writing a book called Life as a Bedtime girl and she loves home life. She loves her book and bed, married to an Italian and comes and goes as she pleases. Would we like to have a life?  Me in my Christmas PJs It is good to invest in making sure you have a good sleep and having a good set of PJ's can help. I don't buy PJ's all of the time, as the ones I have had have lasted for a long time. I like clothes, including bed clothes that last and it can really help to settle for the evening. Invest in yourself. I have had trouble with sleep and its getting to sleep that I have struggled with, but now I sleep well and having a bath with a pair of lovely and easy wearing PJ's have helped and helps me be productive the next day. Having a nice set of sleep wear has made a difference. I have to have a set that allows my skin to breath and instantly relaxes me.  Then there is bedding. I will admit I not one to wash my bedding all of the time like I know I should, but is a must...

Why I love baths

Image
Just had a lovely bath with Himalaya Salts and feel so refreshed. No this is not an advert, I just love that I have baths instead of showers now. I been listening to a Podcast and listened to one by Ken Bruce, Greatest Hits Radio with Elkie Brooks and singer I grew up listening to as my dad would play her songs.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhyn1WSGhXQ I don't have baths everyday, but every other day and alternate with my son, so he has a bath one evening and I have a bath the next evening and is my time I like to spend. Yes I do get disturbed being a parent, when in the bath. I am sure you can resonate, if you to are a parent too. There was a time where I'd have showers and I do at the weekend, but love having soak to relax and recuperate.  What do you prefer bath or shower? Please put down in the comment box below.  As I walk a lot, I like to allow my body to recover and some do ice baths. This has become a trend and seen on Instagram of celebrities getting ont...

Having a Coffee and a Mince Pie

Image
It is less than 19 days before Christmas and luckily I have only two more gifts to buy and then there is the food and already got items to drink and not going to drink the whole day but as we get nearer and afterwards too and looking forward to a chill out day.  My son decorating his tree We have our decorations up and not bought anything as we have quite a bit and put the Christmas tree into my sons room as we have no space in the Living room and he was very pleased, because he had decorated it all by himself.  As I write this blog I am having a coffee with a Mince Pie and why I wanted to write this post as Christmas is about not worrying about weight or feeling guilty but enjoyment and something I have to have when it is Christmas time. It wouldn't be the same if I didn't. I feel it is going to be a good Christmas with no expectations, but having food and drink that I don't have for the rest of the year and music too.  Watching a bit of TV and what I miss about not havi...

Spending a day on the sofa

Image
Today took me a while to wake up and always happens this time of year, autumn 2024 and I have been active, did a walk on the treadmill and now going to spend the day on the sofa.  I find this time I have to myself, whilst my son is at school to be chilled and peaceful as my son is so energetic that it is can be a shock to wake up early and so have time to work on blogs, have a nice lunch in between and tomorrow going to go out and to have a coffee, do some writing in a coffee shop and go to B&M, which is now one of my favourite stores.  However, today it is me watching a bit of Youtube, catching up on my google blogs and other blogs I write on Wordpress, along with working on a book I am writing and going through emails.  Of course I do need to dry up from Breakfast, but will do this once it gets closer to lunch and hydrate and then get back on the couch and do some more on my laptop and may catch up on some TV.  Well that lasted. As my husband just popped in, wh...

Love having a coffee and a notebook

Image
I love nothing than having a coffee whilst planning and drafting content that I'd like to share on my blogs and videos, having a change of environment.  Also like to try different coffees in different coffee shops and have a bit of me time, which for me is so important in terms of energy and relaxation.  Having time for me is what I need when my son is with his dad, at a holiday club he goes to in the holidays or be looked after by his grandparents.  I know it is not always possible to have break as when school returns, I know some of us have a few more weeks left, it can be all systems go and we get caught up with being busy with the return of school, but I use the time in the morning or evening, depending on when you get quiet moment then there is no better feeling in having a good coffee, and my journal and pen, and planning my life.  I love to brainstorm and draft blogs and allowing my creativity come out and just allow myself to put my thoughts and ideas on ...

Finding your style that represents who you are

Image
My mum loves a dress and she is very glamorous and puts make up on everyday where I with me I put mine on when there is particular reason, and I like my leggins with a t-shirt or jumper, and will wear a dress when for a particular reason, and also dress to suit my lifestyle like working out and comfortable clothing that can be casual and smart.  I am that parent that could live in gym gear all of the time, but to avoid that I will style my wardrobe with trousers, shorts and I do like a nice top that is different and smarten up again depending on what I am doing on the day (if I am going out) and the weather. At school I was someone who would look at the girls in my class of what they were wearing and plan my wardrobe that suited me at that time. I also collect clothes that has longevity, checkout my blog site   Carries Versatile fashion . It is important to me to have good functional style that my body can breath and like a jumper is like being given like a big hug and a ...

Being 45 and growing

Image
As a kid I felt uncomfortable about being a child, because I saw being an adult, it meant that you had more freedom than being a child. Being 45 seemed a long long milestone and now I am 45, gotten to a place where I am okay with my life, and that I have come a long way to feeling good about myself and that I am no longer fearful compared to when I was a kid. I did have a good childhood and feel very lucky with the things I have done through out it, like holiday's in Clacton and Menorca, and seeing shows up London and visits to London Zoo, Chessington Zoo before it became a Theme Park, and it was just the zoo, and getting my ears pierced up London and spent time seeing my grandparents.  There was a time I liked to go out all the time and meet friends for a drink and get plastered. Not so much now, and like having the odd drink, but no over do it. Its alright going out partying but you have to think about getting home safely and I think you become more protective especially be...

I like making choices that meet with how I feel each day

Image
The start of this week has been a struggle as not felt too good, and so stayed in but really I needed to be outside and glad I did go out today as I bumped into someone that I hadn't seen for ages. She was someone I met when my son was born, as her son like Henry was premature, and born two days before Henry and so good to see her.  Wimbledon RFC Ground that we go to each weekend and gives my son joy and me too Today I did a list for today of what I needed to get done as started to work on my laptop in the mornings, and has helped plan and break my day up. Everyone has a different schedule, and important jobs to do, and so like to acknowledge those who take their kids to school each day and on time, yet they have to travel a lot to do that, and then go to work and rarely have time for themselves.  When it comes to choices and what to do each day, is on how I feel, and today wanted to hop on the bus, get bits for dinner, grab a coffee and get bus back.  It is the same when...

Enjoy your life in 2024

Image
You have to wind down and recharge, because we can get so overwhelmed that we want to hide away, so if are super fatigued yet you exercise, you get the cleaning done, and other errands, then it is time to take a break and recuperate. If something in your life is draining you, then it is time to let it go, by reflecting on how you feel and what you can do to change it, so you don't feel you are being bitten by life, but are happy and nothing gets you down and that means facing changes head on and learning.  I didn't like school, but I still went, when I went to a new dancing class on Saturday's I cried on the first day, because of being so shy. I was introduced to it by my friend Emma who was going  I thought and then stayed dancing for seven years. I didn't know about blog writing until I read a book, and now write blogs on Wordpress and google blogspot and have followers and now have three Youtube channels which are growing and yet took a break in between because for I...

Autumn Living adjusting into this season

Image
After having real nice weather, it has turned and is a miserable day today, but I don't mind it as I am ready for Autumn now and thinking about what I am going to need for this season to sort my life out. I am doing an Autumn Reset and finishing projects I am doing, like my new book I am writing, finish sorting out my bedroom in Wimbledon and complete the online courses I have enrolled on.  Check out my blog site: https://everyonecanbuildacastle.com   and been filming for it too, and these will start to be upload next week. If you read this in the future then check out my main Youtube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@typicallondongal I am filming today, and I really enjoy filming vlogs and started already my husband has begun using the slow cooker, and I love a casserole or a stew this time of year. And I love a Roast, I did have some during the summer, but I do particularly love them now (Autumn 2023) and my taste buds do change as the weather gets colder with a l...

Why I like my own mug

Image
Hello sorry it has been a while since writing on this blog. If you didn't know I am doing a life coaching programme "The Summer Project 2023" and is helping you have a better year and happy life, check out my blog site: https://everyonecanbuildacastle.com   I have created videos that are on my main Youtube channel for this project and so check it here via this link:  typicallondongal  It is June 2023 and today whilst having my first cup of tea completed the first draft of my book and feels so good to have this done. Having my own mug helps with that and it just something that gives me comfort.  When working in offices you would be asked to have your own mug if you wanted a cup of tea and coffee and thought that this was such a good idea and it makes it a homely environment. Of course if you work in a supermarket not so good because eating and drinking in front of customer is unprofessional, but doesn't mean you can't bring your own mug use it when you take a break...

Take good care of your skin

Image
Noone likes dry skin including myself and if I don't moisturise each day that is exactly what it does and from a kid have looked after my skin and it can really help how you are feeling and so having a good skincare routine each day is important.  My main two are my Nivea creams, and for a while would use baby oil and E45 but these products can be expensive, not unless you have a Savers near you or Poundland. I would like to try different brands, like I have one by Olay, but not really used it.  Getting into the habit can help do wake you up each day and I mean the skin. I do wear make up but not a lot because I like my skin to breath.  I am trying to balance it out though as I would like to put on make up regularly, but can't establish a routine at the moment, as I have been concentrating on getting back into my exercise.  It's not that I don't like the make I have, its just putting on a simple look but I am going to try as of tomorrow as it does help my confidence,...

Finding a decent coffee

Image
I love having a my coffee each day and been trying to not buy coffee from a coffee shop all of the time and use the jars of coffee I have and has made a difference but will treat myself to a Costa Coffee for example, but not all of the time. If you add up the amount a coffee from a coffee shop costs it can really damage your bank balance.  I am choosy when it comes to coffee and Greggs for do a decent Latte and is out of a machine rather than a coffee maker, and is cheaper than a coffee shop.  When it comes to a cup of coffee you want it to be smooth and not bitter. Cafe Nero for example I find their coffee too strong and so will go for a Chai Latte or a Hot Chocolate.  They say that Coffee can cause Anxiety which I read in a book, but for me it is different and it wakes me up and find it fills me up, and have to have a cup. I have the Sainsbury's Freeze Dry Jar of coffee and is my favourite out of the others ones, and was once upon a time, would be Kenco but no, not now ...

Coffee and cakes

Image
So I thought my son had his first Babyccino this week, but found out that it wasn't and he didn't like the hot milk version but cold. This was in Costas and I love their cornflakes cakes and even though I do have a coffee machine in my home they aren't as good. However, using the coffee machine at home, has saved me a lot of money and same with instant coffee, which I have at my son's home in Epsom, and going to buy myself another jar of coffee and cold latte sachets to save the pennies.  My son drinking his Babyccino I do often will pay a visit to Cafe Nero if I fancy a Chai Latte and love their Bacon and Brie Panini, but can be pricey so I now cut this down to having this once a month, and tomorrow was planning to visit Starbucks, but I had to catch myself, because why buy a coffee from Starbucks, when I buying coffee in a supermarket?  Am I alone in this?  It is double the expense, and I know I could stop drinking coffee, but I love my coffee in the morning and dayti...

Having a day off and taking time to look after yourself

Image
So tomorrow it is Saturday my day off. This is important, because I hate burnout and for me to look after my son, its important I look after me. I want Henry to enjoy his days with me and tomorrow if the weather is good going to take him to see the fish at an aquarium, and then walk through Morden Park. I hope for another sunny day and enjoying the outdoors is what I need and my son needs.  Do these kind of things keeps you in touch with your kids? Absolutely. Outdoors is our Oyster, and it allows to get rid of cobwebs and tension. I do suffer anxiety and so is a must to get outside and enjoy my surroundings.  Today I didn't do a lot of blogs, I volunteered to help take the children from my sons school and my son, to their Sports Day event and it was so lovely seeing his face when he saw me waiting for the children to come out and helped my son along with his one to one teacher take him there and it was so worth.  His class teacher was a bit concerned about him taking par...

Spending my time with my son and days I have free

Image
After last week I am grateful to be back working on my various projects, but miss my son at the same time. He is such a character and a wonderful boy that I do feel a bit anxious without him. We spend a good time together and time is precious. I have also been working on my Life Coaching Programme like I did last year "2022 Project" Please check out my Youtube channel which has this content via this link:  https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UCUDFIqjVKLy7NhtcR6Hy0Tg The blogs I am writing for my Life Coaching Programme is on my site: everyonecanbuildacastle Spending time with Henry is very important to me and I love being a mum. There are times to stop myself in reminding me that I am responsible for my little dude as I call him and so do a lot of exploring.  Living in London has its benefits and being part of it can be great depending on the atmosphere. I like to have meals with my son and now we go on walks and it is so good to get outdoors as when I feel tired I go outdoors...

Make up free days/Looking after my skin

Image
I have always had sensitive skin and so means I can't use soap based products, because of that. Showers Gels I am okay with but if they are fragranced free or soap free they do leave my body feeling revitalised rather than dry.  The products that have always helped is Nivea and Simple, E45 skincare, but now have started to use Boots No7 and the night cream I use of that range is called Essential Moisture, Night Cream and it really does help my skin and so would like to use some more of the No7 products.  It is Wednesday in the week and I like doing Make up free, aswell as putting it on and will use my tub of Nivea and Boots Glow Mist, when I don't put any on, and this really helps my skin a lot, as I wash when I do wear make up using a Flannel and Hot water and then use my Nivea and my night cream and my skin feels so soft the next day.  I do have make up removal wipes but try not to use these all of the time and I think once I used the pack I have got, not use them anymo...
